Kid mode, child profiles and shared tablets
Set up a child on their own device, switch kid mode on, and earn badges.
Kid mode
Kid mode is a setting on a profile, not a screen you switch to. Turn it on in profile settings: bigger targets, simpler wording, and emoji ratings instead of numbers.
Managed child profiles
Children can take part without an email address or a password. An organizer creates a managed child profile with a name, age band and avatar. The child gets real credit for their votes, ratings and badges.
Setting up a child's device
1. An organizer signs in on the child's tablet (or their own phone) and opens Members. 2. Choose the child, then Assign this device. That mints a one-time activation link. 3. Open that link on the child's device. It swaps the token for a child session and stays signed in as them.
The device stays signed in until an organizer un-assigns it or someone uses Forget this device on the tablet — that asks for confirmation, and afterwards an organizer has to run the setup again.
Badges
Kids earn badges for visiting different kinds of places — water, castles, animals, outdoors and so on. Badges appear on the family badges screen.
